What happens to our world!?

That climate change would all agree on. For many years we have known that the polar ice melts and that it gradually becoming warmer on Earth. We also know what it will lead to eventually, and we know very much why this has happened. But the big question is why we have let this happen? Although most have been aware of the great dangers of climate change, we have chosen to ignore.

The biggest reason we let it continue is that everyone thinks that it does not help if you do something by your self. We are thinking, what it helps if I do not use hairspray when all others do? And what would it helps if I sort of plastic when nobody else do it? But it does actually benefit the little that is done, although there is significant effort required in the end. We must start somewhere! And then it is best to start with yourself. What can I do to the environment will become better?

Another major reason why we actually only been watch when the environment collapses and did not do something is because we think that the worst still will not affect me. Our generation will not remain on earth when the floods destroying the world and the heat will be terrible. We only think about ourself and do not think of the people who comes after us, our children, grandchildren and so on. But it is selfish of us to think so. In the first, we do not know what will happen when we die. Maybe we will get back to Earth? And who do not want their children and grandchildren well?

It is not too late to change our life to help save our planet. Think of our grandshildren. Mayby they want to see the polarbear in real life...?

  1. Hello Frida
I found your discussion about the climate change and the way you think people think about it very interesting. I do so agree with you that a lot of people seem to find it hard to see how it will affect them and what they can do about it. Which I would say is an affect of the late and slow coming knowledge about the environmental issues.

I think that your paragraphs are short, interesting and well written. They contain one unit of thought, or in this text one suggestion of reason for the trend. You have been giving reasons for why the individual, the normal people have been ignoring the problem. I also would have liked to read about your opinion on why the politicians, world and national leaders haven’t act in this matter. They have the power to affect and teach the people if they want to. One more suggestion of a reason would have been good.

Your thesis statement is that we have chosen to ignore, and I think that you give a reason for that in paragraph 3. Paragraph 2 is not as easy or clearly linked back to the thesis statement. It is more like another reason. Maybe you could try to work a bit more with your transitional devices, using all the four basic types.

Some comments on the grammar and spelling: In paragraph 2 I would use another word instead of biggest, maybe The main/ major/prime reason. Yourself should be one word. First sentence in the 3 paragraph is a good example for using the -ing form(take a look at the word watch). Take a look at the spelling of grandchildren, maybe and polar bear.

Good luck with the next blog assignment!
    Best,
    Anna

  2. Hello Frida,
I enjoyed reading your text about the climate change and I agree with you in what you are saying - and it makes me upset!
Your text is well structured and follows the rules for a causal text: after the introduction there is a question which you answer in the paragraphs after.
Just a brief comment on the language: I think you should write "what does it help.." in the second paragraph insted of "what it helps.."
    Well Done!
    Happy Easter,
    Anna E.
